Step-by-step guide to perfect lash lifts:
Follow these comprehensive steps to achieve flawless lash lifts with Powder Lift:
Preparation:
- Make sure your client's lashes are clean and free of make-up or dirt.
- Place the under-eye patches.
- Use eyelid tape/stickers to secure the eyelid and improve vision during treatment.
- Customise your lash-lifting treatment to each client's unique needs, based on their lash type and desired result.
TIP: Perform a thorough lash analysis. Performing an eyelash analysis is recommended for each individual client.
Don't use the same shield for everyone. It's like using the same curl of lash extensions for every client. Always tailor your lash-lifting treatments to individual needs.
- Place the shield as close to the lash edge as possible, leaving no skin visible between the lashes and the shield.
TIP: Also check the distance to see if it is close enough. To check the spacing, we recommend placing the shield and then gently pulling the lashes down to see it clearly.
- Be careful that the ends of the lashes are not bent over the top of the silicone shield.
Application:
- Mix the lifting lotion with GlueLess Korean Powder until you get a cream with a light scrub-like texture. You'll see that it gets a creamy texture right away. No need to use a balm anymore!
TIP: Use between 20%-30% GlueLess Korean Powder Lift, depending on the consistency of your lotion and the strength of your lashes. The amount you use depends on two factors:
- The consistency of your lotion: Thinner lotions require more Powder Lift.
- Lash strength and thickness: Thinner lashes need less Powder Lift, while coarser and stronger lashes may need slightly more Powder Lift for better adhesion.
Thinner lotions need more Powder Lift for thickening, while finer lashes may need less compared to coarser lashes, where you may need slightly more Powder Lift for better adhesion.
You don't have to make it super thick; just start with 30% and see how it feels. Then you can gradually increase to 40% to 50% if necessary.
- Apply the mixture to the top of the lashes, ensuring complete coverage.
- Leave the lotion on for 2-3 minutes to soften the lashes and break the disulphide bonds.
- Place the softened lashes on the silicone pads, allowing them to process into the desired lifted position.
TIP: You only have to worry about the perfect placement and isolation of the lashes during the Fixation Step. And that's one of the very nice things about Powder Lift, because when you're working with especially coarse lashes, it can sometimes be tricky to get them perfectly on the shield.
During the lifting phase (Step 1), it is essential to ensure that the treatment runs smoothly. Helpful tips for optimal results:
- Assess the softening of the lashes: Once the designated time in the lifting phase (Step 1) has been reached, gently bend down an eyelash with tweezers. This will help you determine whether the lashes have been sufficiently soaked.
- Keep an eye on the softness of the lashes: Use tweezers regularly to assess the softness of a few lashes and make sure they are ready for the next step.
- Allow for a shorter processing time: Remember that with Powder Lift, the processing time is shorter compared to traditional methods. Stay attentive during this phase to achieve optimal results.
- Carefully remove the lotion: Once the lashes are ready for the next step, gently remove the lotion with a damp lip gloss applicator or micro-brush.
Keeping these tips in mind will help you achieve professional and flawless results with every lash lift.
Enhance with Tinting (Optional):
If you want to tint your lashes, do it as follows BEFORE proceeding to the Fixation Step (usually Step 2):
- Prepare the tinting mixture:
- Mix the tint with some powder lift, following the recipe to make the tint mixture.
- Apply the tint:
- Gently apply the tint mixture to the lashes, making sure all lashes are well covered.
- Soak the tint for the recommended time according to the instructions, approximately 2-3 minutes
- Prepare the fixing lotion:
- Mix the ingredients for the fixing lotion with some powder lift as directed.
- Fix the lashes:
- Apply the fixing lotion to the tinted lashes to fix the colour. And importantly, now fix the lashes well on the shield.
- Leave the fixing lotion on for the recommended time.
Tips for success:
- Experiment with different powder-lift ratios to find the perfect consistency for different lash types and customer preferences.
- Use a dense lamination brush for precise application and separation of lashes during the fixation step.
- Adjust processing times based on visual assessment to achieve the desired lift and curl.
